This review is for fun and games. I try not to take my comics and movies too serious, but love talking about it. – Cookston Igou
X-Men Apocalypse is set to release May 27th, 2016. And so far it is not looking to great. This is coming from someone who grew up loving X-Men comics and cartoons. Hey I even tried to like the previous movies, but besides X-Men First Class, I haven’t been impressed to say the least.
So what is everything wrong so far with this new X-Men movie? This time, we don’t even have to wait for it to come out to find errors. The first error with Apocalypse doesn’t even start with this movie! It is the credit scene at the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past. It is suppose to be a young Apocalypse with four horsemen behind him. And all I can think while he builds pyramids with modern Egypt in background is when the hell is this suppose to take place!
You can clearly see modern Egypt in the background of this screenshot image. Then he is young, and in the comics Apocalypse is ancient, and lived in Ancient Egypt. But then we see the horsemen. The four horsemen of Apocalypse is part of his story, but there are problems here too. Ancient Egypt is said to have smaller horses than modern times, and mostly only used them for chariots. Oh and the horsemen don’t come into play until he creates them as full on adult villain Apocalypse. Continue reading “X-Men Apocalypse Movie: Early Review and Pictures”
The Suicide Squad do to release August 2016, can be seen as a whole group in this image.
Suicide Squad is part of the start of the larger DCU, DCCU? Well, anyway the DC comics cinematic universe films will all be tied together. So IMDB already lists Ben Affleck as Batman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther, following up the much hyped Batman VS. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
This is the same movie that features Jared Leto as the Joker, which is a risky move. All photos are officially from Director David Ayer’s Twitter page.
This post contains spoilers for Avengers: Age of Ultron! Specially the last two paragraphs! You have been told, read at own risk!
Well it has been awhile since I first made a post about the Infinity Stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). So now that we are towards the end of Marvel’s phase 2 of movies, and Age of Ultron is now out, let’s take a look at how close we are to seeing all the stones and the Infinity Gauntlet.
Although these stones are called gems, or infinity gems in the comic books, for some reason they are referred to as stones in the movie, so if I say gem a few times I apologize, old habit.
I already see a pattern, two stones each phase, equaling the six total stones Thanos needs to be omnipresent and all powerful. But what we didn’t realize until later in phase two, is another stone was in front of us the whole time!
Phase One: Space Stone
This is the first stone we really see. It is in Captain America and is part of the whole plot with Loki in Avengers. It has the power to open portals, and possible teleport its user. With the other stones it may cause omnipresence. Continue reading “INFINITY STONES IN THE (MCU) MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE: Part 2”
Well I gave my early plot guess, and now we get to see more of the villains and characters in the new 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trailer. It doesn’t look like we will see a huge cast of characters, so no Krang, BeeBop or Rock Steady. But according to IMDB there is at least some appearance of Baxter Stockman, the crazy scientist who turns into a fly.

The new Shredder, less ninja, more robot.
Recent rumors, supposedly started by Bleeding Cool, suggests Marvel may cancel their Fantastic Four comics to directly hurt Fox.
Okay, well first off let me say they might, but it won’t have anything to do with Fox, like many are saying. Marvel is constantly changing around the comic book lines to stay fresh and adapt. Recently, Marvel for the first time cancelled the ongoing Uncanny X-Men, which had been numbered up to #544 since 1963. Since then I don’t get suprised about anything they do.
But like many of the relaunches, would they actually do it to hurt the new Fox movie Fantastic Four reboot? I honestly believe this move would hurt Marvel and favor Fox. My out come is this.
If Marvel was to cancel the series, they would have to refund or replace every subcription to the comic book, and with collectors, stores, and online sellers, that would be quite a bit to replace. Not only that, but it would leave a hole of content for diehard FF fans, possibly causing them to wait for the movie, then go see it!
So if I am wrong and for some reason the Fantastic Four do get cancelled, it won’t be because the movie.
I would like to say real quick that I hope the movie takes advantage of the Ultimate Fantastice Four, using the four elements as a source of their powers.
Mr. Fantastic – Water
Invisible Woman – Air
Human Torch – Obviously he is flowers
The Thing – Earth
Could Marvel be going for a new darker look for Doctor Strange, and possibly an R rating? It looks promising with the recent news that Scott Derrickson will be directing it.
Scott Derrickson is currently known for writing and directing The Exorcism Of Emily Rose, and his own concept, Sinister. ( Sinister 2 is also in the works). Not only are these horror based films, take a look at his info on IMDB. Continue reading “Could Dr. Strange be a Horror Movie? Scott Derrickson to Direct Doctor Strange”
