Heroes of the Storm started of with 4 general class roles for heroes, Assassins, Support, Warriors, and Specialists. Over time, those roles have become a little more specific, having sub groups to their class. Support can be healers or sustain, or Warriors can be tanks or bruisers. The interesting thing that makes bruisers a unique subclass of a role, is that Warriors and Assassins can be bruisers, unlike any other subclass.
Bruisers are off-tank like characters who also create high damage output. The are not the toughest or deadliest, but well balanced heroes to keep the team well rounded. Often in draft, roles may be filled but the team may be to “squishy”, meaning easily killed. Bruisers will usually be requested to fix this.
Who are the bruisers? In Heroes of the Storm, we are lucky to find heroes actually labeled by Blizzard as Bruisers in the hero description, making finding one fairly easy. However, if you were to look online at websites and communities, you may find there is no certain answer to who all are heroes. Therefor, hero is a list of for sure Bruisers, and pseudo-Bruisers.
