Well, in case you haven’t noticed yet,in every Marvel MCU movie in what is called Phase 2, someone loses a hand or arm. This is said to be a shout out to the Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Because not only do they lose hand, but its not a big deal. Hands and arms are apparently easy to replace in the superhero worlds. Which leads us to Doctor Strange!
This post contains spoilers for Avengers: Age of Ultron! Specially the last two paragraphs! You have been told, read at own risk!
Well it has been awhile since I first made a post about the Infinity Stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). So now that we are towards the end of Marvel’s phase 2 of movies, and Age of Ultron is now out, let’s take a look at how close we are to seeing all the stones and the Infinity Gauntlet.
Although these stones are called gems, or infinity gems in the comic books, for some reason they are referred to as stones in the movie, so if I say gem a few times I apologize, old habit.
I already see a pattern, two stones each phase, equaling the six total stones Thanos needs to be omnipresent and all powerful. But what we didn’t realize until later in phase two, is another stone was in front of us the whole time!
So Marvel is getting deeper into the plot and setting of the new cross universe (or more correctly universes) story line Secret Wars. Which, is probably not going to remain very secret since it is slowly destroying every world and all of Marvel existence will be forever changed! But, as of now, we are 2 months away from the beginning of the end, and the new beginning, or something like that. Continue reading “Marvel’s Secret Wars 2015: Discussion and Theory”
Fox has released the first look at the new Fantastic Four movie reboot as a teaser trailer. And so far it is looking hopeful. I try not to get my hopes up when it comes to Fox using Marvel characters for movies, but this seems to be going in the right direction. This almost 2 minute trailer shows a glimpse of what the heroes will look like, and a bit of how the movie will play out.
Right off the bat the trailer throws some big concepts. How did humanity get this far? Why do humans have to be so inventive and curious? And mentions with every discovery there is risk, sacrifice, and consequence. I take from this that the movie will follow a more sci fi thriller type idea as oppose to the action packed super hero movie style. Which is great to me. Fantastic Four, as long as I have read the comics, has been more about solving problems with brains and solutions than fighting their way through. This has much to do with the genius leader Reed Richards. Continue reading “Fantastic Four 2015 Trailer Review”
The Infinity Stones are powerful objects, each giving unique powers of the galaxy, possibly the universe. There are said to be six. In the comics the six stones are called gem and are called the mind, soul, power, space, time, and reality gem.
The Infinity Stones have already started appearing in many Marvel movies, but mainly we have seen one, the Space Stone, also known as The Tesseract. It appears in Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers. The second stone, the Power Stone, is actually the only one said not to be a stone, but more of a liquid. The Power Stone appears in Thor: The Dark World. The third stone, currently unknown, is said to appear in Guardians Of The Galaxy. (Aug, 1st) Continue reading “Infinity Stones in the Marvel Movie Universe”
The Infinity Gems (or Infinite Stones for the Marvel movie universe) are the most powerful items, or collectibles, in the galaxy, and possibly the universe. In Marvel comics there are six infinity gems, but no one is certain if all six will be in the movie. We expect six, because of The Collector saying so in Thor: The Dark World.
