Sony continues their Spider-Man villain verse with the newest release, Kraven The Hunter. The new trailer is out now, showing the movie is another origin story, and is in the same world/universe as Mobius and Venom. Which Spider-Man they will actually encounter is yet to be seen.
More About Kraven/Who is Kraven?
Kraven the Hunter is a fictional supervillain in the Spider-Man comics published by Marvel Comics. His real name is Sergei Kravinoff, and he first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #15 in 1964. Kraven is known for his exceptional hunting skills, physical prowess, and his relentless pursuit of dangerous game, including Spider-Man.
Kraven comes from a Russian aristocratic family and has a deep-rooted desire to prove himself as the world’s greatest hunter. He wears a distinctive costume consisting of a lion-themed vest, leopard-print pants, and a bandolier of various weapons. Kraven is also known for his shaved head and distinctive facial hair.
Throughout his comic book history, Kraven has clashed with Spider-Man numerous times, often attempting to hunt him down as the ultimate prey. One of Kraven’s most famous storylines is “Kraven’s Last Hunt,” where he captures and seemingly kills Spider-Man, then assumes his identity to prove himself superior.
Kraven has also appeared in various animated TV series, video games, and the 2018 film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, Kraven the Hunter had not yet been introduced. However, plans can change, and it’s possible that he may appear in future Spider-Man films or other MCU projects.
