Recent rumors, supposedly started by Bleeding Cool, suggests Marvel may cancel their Fantastic Four comics to directly hurt Fox.
Okay, well first off let me say they might, but it won’t have anything to do with Fox, like many are saying. Marvel is constantly changing around the comic book lines to stay fresh and adapt. Recently, Marvel for the first time cancelled the ongoing Uncanny X-Men, which had been numbered up to #544 since 1963. Since then I don’t get suprised about anything they do.
But like many of the relaunches, would they actually do it to hurt the new Fox movie Fantastic Four reboot? I honestly believe this move would hurt Marvel and favor Fox. My out come is this.
If Marvel was to cancel the series, they would have to refund or replace every subcription to the comic book, and with collectors, stores, and online sellers, that would be quite a bit to replace. Not only that, but it would leave a hole of content for diehard FF fans, possibly causing them to wait for the movie, then go see it!
So if I am wrong and for some reason the Fantastic Four do get cancelled, it won’t be because the movie.
I would like to say real quick that I hope the movie takes advantage of the Ultimate Fantastice Four, using the four elements as a source of their powers.
Mr. Fantastic – Water
Invisible Woman – Air
Human Torch – Obviously he is flowers
The Thing – Earth
