There’s a new hit song that keeps playing on the radio, Beautiful by Bazzi. But I can’t help but laugh every time I hear one certain part in the song. I could swear its Farmer Fran from The Waterboy, and Joe Dirt. You know who he is, the mumbling redneck with the straw hat and overalls.
Okay, so if you’re familiar with the scene in Joe Dirt and the song you may already of connected the dots. But let me run through all this real quick. You can see the lyric, song, and Farmer Fran clip below for the joke. I have two reasons this new pop start reminds me of the old redneck.
Eminem made a stealth bomb of a move releasing an album unexpectedly on midnight, Friday August 31st named Kamikaze. The new Slim Shady album features a variety of influences of past and current rap, and shows an obvious reference to the Beastie Boys hit and music changing album Licensed to Ill. Strangely some people are offended believing Marshall Mathers ripped off the album artwork. However, that is unnecessary, and in this digital era of media, covers are not near as important as previous decade. This is a compete tribute to beast boys.
A big announcement today for Marilyn Manson and Sons of Anarchy fans was made. Marilyn Manson will appear as a reoccurring character in the television series. He will be playing a white-supremacists. Marilyn will be more involved with the main characters’ storyline, so we may be seeing much of him on screen. Marilyn Manson on Eastbound and Down

I cannot help but see the beauty in the irony surrounding this new song. Usually, when 311 is releasing an album they do ridiculous amounts of publicity, and usually say this album will sound like their old stuff. Well, this song does sound like a great blend of old and new 311, getting fans hyped to see what the album brings.
