Why some things become a viral hit on the internet is sometimes hard to say. The perfect example of this is the Eating Tide PODs fad that has spread from a 2017 joke to a 2018 internet culture “fake” challenge and meme. Eating Tide PODs doesn’t get you high, or more popular. But you know what. Screw the man. People are doing it anyway.
